IOFI to launch its Scope 3 Emissions Factors Repository for the flavor industry

To introduce this new resource, IOFI will host a public launch webinar on Monday, 19 January 2026, 13:00-14:00 CET.

Developed over three years in partnership with Quantis and eight IOFI member companies, this sector-wide initiative provides harmonized emission-factor reference points for the most commonly used natural and synthetic ingredients in the flavor sector. The repository consolidates data collected from participating companies and peer-reviewed scientific literature into a transparent and consistent reference resource, covering ~50 ingredients and more than 150 archetypes differentiated by feedstock and origin.

The objective is to help flavor houses and their customers access robust information to support Scope 3 greenhouse gas assessments, respond to data requests, and identify reduction opportunities. The repository will be publicly accessible under fair, reasonable and non-discriminatory conditions.

To introduce this new resource, IOFI will host a public launch webinar on Monday, 19 January 2026, 13:00-14:00 CET. 

During the session, IOFI and project experts will present the background of the initiative, and  the methodology supporting the emission-factor modelling.
